A LED bulb consumes half the energy as compared to a CFL and averages a lifespan of over 50,000 hours which makes it possible to keep your light on 24 hours a day for almost 6 years without replacement. LED based lights are being used in a variety of applications due to their variety in color, quality of light, long life and effective running costs. People love using LEDs because of their flexibility. You can design LED lights to create any shape or design that you want. LEDs are used for mood lighting since they are available in white, warm white, red, blue, green and amber and one can even mix match colors to create mood lighting effects.

A Healthier Environment

LEDs give more light, use half the electricity and generate one tenth the heat of a CFL bulb. The use of LEDs reduces your carbon footprint contributing to a healthier and greener environment.

What most people do not realize about the CFL is that it uses mercury vapor to emit light. This is a big environmental hazard. Disposal of CFLs along with regular waste is against the law in most countries. They have to be disposed of carefully so as to protect the environment from mercury poisoning whereas LED based lights are free from hazardous materials, making them safer to use and easier to dispose of.
